It is happened that progamer who is middle school student, had to stop game of International Competition because of Shutdown system in Korea. Shutdown system is a law forcibly bars teenagers under 16 from playing online games after midnight.
On 15th, according to sponsors, Seung-Hyun Lee(15) who belongs to Startail(progame club) had to stop his game that fight for qualification of French game competition, 'Iron squid', because of Shut down system.
This game was watched by 10 thousand people in all around world, so it was done far into the night for foreigner watchers. On the second set game of 'Starcraft2', this gamer urgently finished his game saying, "OMG, I had a Shutdown system." Foreign watchers who watched the game and also sponsers were embarrassed by his urgent exit from the game.
This gamer,now middle school senior, is known as the best Starcraft progamer in Korea. But, he is a subject of Shutdown system, so he can't play game after midnight. After this happening, he played game with his parent's ID, but he couldn't get qualification of French game competition.
Foreign users got to know the fact that this happening was because of Shutdown system, so they showed some ridiculous reactions like, "Now, he has to go to jail?" or "Korea is weird. Korean game users are very poor.". One foreign user criticized, "It is impossible that government set time to bed for citizens."
Jong-wook Won, who is coach of Seung-Hyun Lee, said "We always stopped game training before midnight because he is a middle school student(He is a subject of Shutdown system.). But it was a French game competition, so this happening occurred because of the time difference. "
