"Offering a job instead of giving relief supplies"
Sea-a commercial trading company, which is enterprise of middle standing of Korea, offered about 20,000 jobs by building factories in northern industrial park in the Republic of Haiti. Haiti has suffered from powerful earthquake in the magnitude of 7.6. The company's generous decision is praised by many people in the world, even a vice president of U. S. A, as a ideal model of relief activities.
Sea-a commercial trading company is not only a knitwear manufacturing company but also a company which is supplying products to 9 countries including China, U. S. A. There are many relief activities by offering clothing, shoes and daily necessities. Even these activities had good intention, some say that there is a possibility of disappearing of local production infra and local jobs because of the relief supplies. In recent days, recognition that the best support for countries like Haiti, is job offering is spreading.
Sea-a commercial trading company wanted to build factories but failed. But, after severe earthquake in 2010, Haiti, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's top aides contacted to the company, proposing a participation of reintegration of Haiti as a business partner with U. S. State Department and finally the firm accepted the proposal.
The company's chairman Woong-ki Kim said "We have provided medicines, food, clothes and sewing machines to Haiti, I'm very proud of the company would be honored to help Haiti's fundamental reintegration." "About 1,000 people will get a job right now, hiring 20,000 local people by 2016 is company's goal."
A building dedication is held in 22, September. About 500 celebrities attended, the 42nd president of the United States, Bill Clinton, secretary of State Hillary Clinton, famous actor Sean Penn and so on.

That's a great thing. Better to offer jobs than short-term aid (as long as short-term aid is also available).
