Last year, on the 28^th of November, at about 2 in the afternoon, Mr. Lee was standing on a quiet park road in junpo-dong , Busan jin-gu in Busan. Brrrm - The car, a black SM5 being driven by Mr. Ko at 50km/hr, hit Mr. Lee. After being hit by the car, Mr. Lee flew into the air and dropped to the ground. But, this accident was not a coincidence. Mr. Lee, who was supposed to join the army the next day, asked his friend to cause the accident.

At the scene of the accident there were 5 witnesses, including their 2 girlfriends, who took videos for fun. Before the intentional accident they had been practicing running in front of the car. It was supposed to injure only his knee but he was hit harder than expected - people who were watching were shocked and screamed.  Mr. Lee postponed his army service 4 times with excuses like preparing public certification or travelling, but this time he didn’t have any other plans. That is why he planned this offense, he said to the police.

He submitted the medical record showing that it needs 4weeks to heal to Busan Military Manpower Administration, he was again granted permission to delay his service.

The police said Mr. Ko, who was asked to cause the accident, used to be a member of the Chilsung Mafia. Mr. Ko had been taking insurance for disguising car accidents, he has already been arrested for this. He made an insurance contract that offered him settlement money and fines etc. and claimed about 90 million won from the insurance for 10 incidents of false car accidents. The police also say he used the same method to associate 20 other people with the accident. The police assumes that even after the Mr.Lee's accident he continued to take the insurance money.

Their crime was discovered because one of the witnesses at the scene had a girl problem with Mr. Lee so he put the video on the internet board for the Military Manpower Administration.

A Busan Yunjae police officer arrested Mr. Lee and booked the accomplice, Mr. Ko who was already in jail.

The police say that for being exempted from military service, he will serve 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment, but the probability for that kind of sentence in this case is very low. He must go for military service eventually.
