Sinwalsung 2nd nuclear power plant that just before the completion is serious.
Plant's completion rates are 99.9% today. It is only ready for fuel supply.
177 nuclear fuels already arrive at plant. It can load by permission of nuclear power safety committee. Samsung product company who construct the plant load neclear fuels in this month. Plant is next May start commercial operation after test for 7 months.
It can product power in test period. But, after starting commercial operation, it will product 1million kw of electricity for every day. Gross generation of it for a year is 8 billion kw.
It is as large as Kyung book's supply of electricity as family use for 2.7 years and commercial use for 3.4months.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. Ltd(KHNP) said "operation of 2nd plant following operation of 1st plant in last July will help about solution of 'drought of electricity'."
236 fuel rods constitute 1 bundle. and, 1 bundle can burn 4.5years. Fuel rods are manufactured by imported enriched uranium.
when 2nd plant start full scale operation, KHNP staffs work 24hours in three shifts as 5groups.
Wall of main control room which do general control about information of plant is full of monitors and buttons. White sign from monitor means 'simple trouble', yellow means 'immoderate condition', red means 'stop'.
Construction expenses for each plant are 4trillion 7hundred billon won. Plant's durability is for 40 years. 1st plant will be operated by 2042. 2nd plant will be operated by 2043.
Ki Sang Song head of 3rd Walsung nuclear power plant said "After design fatigue life, every 10 years we assess about stability of plant. Also, if there is no special problem, we decide the continuation of operation."
Go-ri 1st plant which is the first of domestic nuclear plant was operated in April 1978. It was shutdown in June 2007. After stability evaluation, it start to operate for 10years timeline.
However, Go-ri 1st plant made big and small trouble after re-operation. so, public opinion strenuously insist closing it.
KHNP estimatecost of decommissioning as 325 billion 100 million won for each plant. But, by inspection of government offices in last year, shutdown the Go-ri 1st plant will cost maximum 986 billon won.
KHNP said "Up to now, we do not have example for decommisioning plant. so, we can not calculate accurate cost. so we just save 7won for each 1kw."

I wonder what's going to happen now. Aren't they shutting down 1 or more of the nuclear plants during the winter?
