September 18, 2009, People busy to reception of guests before “housewarming” in Hong-jae dong, Seodaemun-gu of Seoul. Children who play around all over the house are happy because their own room.
Last about the end of may, they composed with women from twenties to fifties and their children have settled in to this place. “열린여성센터” that opened at Yongsan-gu in April 2004 have new nest because social organization and private people contribute money to relieving women.
“houeseworming” that was opened at 7:00 pm,18 to express gratitude people who help to get a this nest.
Mrs. Soe, working at “열린복지” of social welfare organ and have consultation with homeless women, thought “I hope to make place where homeless women take a rest” So she opened shelter in nearby Seoul station. However they had trouble with heating bills.
Mrs soe held small classic concert, which was intended to raise funds. And community chest support 100 million won of Korea’ money. So they have new nest.
Women lived in this place are drive out of house because of home violence, poverty and mental disease.
This place gives mental and emotional support to women in need. But facilities for homeless women are insufficient. The home less people remains with anxiety and fear. They need everyone’s help.

The original article mentions that women have trouble getting government assistance, why? Is it a documentation problem? Is this more of a problem for women than men?

ReplyDeleteBecause they have parents and husband just in document but as a matter of fact they alone.
In my opinion, this is not only documentation problem. Government not prepared to women’s problem with various field. So many people as well as women have not received national welfare. Government has to offer various welfares for many people who have trouble.
This article only mention to women’s problem. But also men have many problems. Because they have responsible to family, they easily feel frustrated and they will be homeless. For these people, we have many concern and help to them.
