How to keep our health?

Overeating, having a snack can be impose burden on immune cells .




Does Tamiflu kill Influenza A (H1A1) virus? No, it does not. Tamiflu only hinders invading virus in cells from spreading other cells in our body. If it is so, what can it kill the enemy in our body? It is an immune cell.





Our body has special system which can handle alien substance coming from outside or abnormal cells in the body. It is called the immunity or natural cure system.
Of course, we hide our face in our hands when we sneeze or have a cough.


However only this, we can not prevent infection of virus. If a primary line of defense, like our skin or mucous membrane, is collapsed and then virus permeates into our body quickly, so we should be treated.
Nevertheless, we should not assure that we are fine because of treatment. Some people can easily recover from illness without any care, on the other hand, others are treated but they are dead. People who recover their health are well. That is to say, their immune system operates effectively. Therefore to increase the effect of medical cure, we should reinforce our immunity. If immunity is stronger, we can overcome not only Influenza A but also more dangerous virus. The way of enhancing immunity is very easy. We should change our eating habits. It is always considered and is natural so many people are likely to disregard it. Professor Kim, who is a Chung Nam University professor, said that we should eat evenly, take a rest fully, and exercise regularly. In brief, that means Slow Life. The following contents are guides which are methods of reinforcing our immunity.


Eat food of the season.


We should make a plan related to eating something. Cereals are good for the principle food. Cereals are including carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamin and minerals. Therefore its ingredients can aid increasing our immunity. The food of season is cheaper and it is helpful to our health.

Chew a meal fully, and eat small amount of food.

We should take a meal regularly, and eat a small quantity. Chewing a meal fully is promoting digestion and absorption easily. In particular, a mucous membrane of a digestive organ has many immune cells, so overeating and eating between meals are affecting our digestive organ badly so immunity is decreased.


Drink water frequently.

We would better have a habit which is drinking water slowly and little by little. Drinking 2 liter water per one day, it is promoting body metabolism. In addition quantity of our urine is increasing, so poisonous substance in our body is excreted quickly. However we should not drink water during and after the meal, because it is not helpful to digest food.


Sleep on time.

A sound sleeping is important. While we are sleeping, parasympathetic nerves is activated, so our body tension is decreased. In addition, after the meal, sleeping for a while is good. Sleeping on time is good for our body’s rest and hormone secretion.
When we catch a cold, we are easily tired and we want to sleep because of parasympathetic nerves action. Therefore at least 5 minutes, take a rest. It is good for increasing and enforcing our immunity.

  1. I've heard that one shouldn't drink water during a meal many times in Korea, but as far as I can tell, it is a cultural/personal and not scientific belief.

    There are many sources that claim that drinking water before/with/after a meal is not good, but I'll defer to the Mayo Clinic - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/digestion/AN01776/ for advice.

    What do you think is the most important thing to do to keep healthy?
